Sail from Colonia St. Jordi to Cabrera Island, where you will see relics of the past and treasures of the present. Scenery, wildlife, and gourmet eats are sure to convince you to join us on this private voyage through old-world Mallorca.

For this amazing charter, we transfer the boat overnight to Colonia St. Jordi where we will meet you in the port at 9 AM sharp for the 2.5-hour sail to Cabrera Island. Leaving from here allows us to benefit from the easterly winds sailing in both directions across the straits. The rocky islands provide a scenic backdrop on our way into the sheltered bay, where we also often see dolphins. The 16th-century castle on the hill built to protect the small population and military base from attacks by marauding pirates will give this private Mallorca charter an old-world feeling.

Once moored, hop in the clear blue water and admire the many varieties of fish swimming peacefully in this marine life sanctuary. The seas here are teeming with marine life due to net fisherman being banned from the area, meaning that we bear witness to frequent dolphin sightings, huge sea bass, and many other fascinating sea creatures. After a dip, we can then take you across to the small island port for a tour of the island. A guided tour of the island provides special insight into rare species of flora and fauna living undisturbed on the island as well as the island’s surprising yet impressive history. Upon booking, let us know if you’d like us to arrange this opportunity for you. If you have booked a guided tour of the island, please bear in mind that a swim in the blue grotto will not be possible in the time available.

Rather than doing the guided tour, your group may prefer the option of taking a steep walk (about 15 minutes for someone fit) up the well-trodden rocky path to the 400-year-old castle. This is a unique photo opportunity to snap impressive shots of the sea, Mallorca, and each other from the tower. This view across the 10-mile stretch of sea to Mallorca can only be described as breathtaking; over the island, you can also see the remains of the prison, built to house thousands of prisoners during the Franco-Spanish wars (most of whom starved to death, or perished on the 10 mile swim across the straits to Mallorca), and the thoughtful memorial to them laid by the Spanish.

We return to the boat where a 3-course grill lunch is served on board with a platter of exotic fruits.

If you decide to have a swim, you will be astonished at the size and variety of the (harmless) marine life visible all around you. After lunch, we motor across to “the Blue Grotto” where our 3-metre motorised RIB takes you for a swim inside this stunning cave. You’ll see what we mean when you swim inside and look up at the roof! After the swim, we begin the sail back to Mallorca, normally arriving at Colonia St. Jordi between 20:00 and 21:00. Snacks and tapas are served on the return sail. If you’d rather accompany us back to Marina Cala d’Or, you are welcome to stay on board with us to enjoy the coastal tour for an additional 4 hours on board, at no extra cost.
