General Terms and Conditions of Vita Bel Yacht Charter s.l.
Booking a Shared Charter
Shared charter bookings are ‘provisional’ until 6 guests are confirmed. This is because it is uneconomic to go out with less than this number. It is rare we don’t reach our minimum. A 50% deposit is required at time of booking, with balance payable on the boat. If we do not reach our minimum of 6 guests by the charter date, we will offer to i) change to another date or tour ii) pay the difference up to the cost of 6 guests or, if you can’t wait for confirmation, iii) withdraw from the booking and receive a full refund.
Cancellations by you the client, for any reason 30 days or more before the date of charter the payment will be refunded in full; less than 30 days but more than 14 days will be refunded 50% of the amount paid; less than 14 days there is no refund. We will provide a formal invoice and confirm the charter was not completed, this will enable you to make a claim on your travel insurance.
Booking a Private Charter
Bookings are for the whole boat and provided the full price is paid, for up to 12 guests of any age can be on board. Cancellations 30 days or more before the date of charter will be refunded in full; less than 30 days but more than 14 days will be refunded 50%; less than 14 days will not receive any refund. We will provide a formal invoice and confirm the charter was not completed, this will enable you to make a claim on your travel insurance.
Bad weather
If the Captain considers that weather or sea conditions will make sailing unpleasant or dangerous, the charter may be changed to another time or day or, a refund of 100% payment will be made. This offer does not apply to sea-sickness, which can affect some people standing in the middle of the road.
Insurance
Personal Accident and 3rd Party Liability Insurance is included in the charter cost – to the minimum amounts required by local law, i.e. about 5 million €. You may decide and we would most likely agree that you are worth more dead than alive; but remember, if you are tempted to jump overboard while we are sailing, unless you have been particularly annoying, we will turn back to recover you. Handbags, hats, towels, sunglasses, swimming costumes and cameras are not covered by the ships insurance nor do we turn back to recover them; loss or damage is your responsibility and we would encourage you to make a claim on your travel insurance.
Medical Advice
If you are suffering a medical condition or physically so heavy, that in the Captains opinion you may cause injure to yourself or other guests if you fall, you will be denied access to the boat. If you have advised us in advance, we will refund you in full. This may sound unkind but just think about what happens, if the boat is leaning and a heavy person falls over and they cannot protect themselves or avoid falling on another guest or overboard, death or serious injury could be the result. If you do not advise us in advance and we have to deny access, we will not make a refund.
Allergies & Medical Issues
We ask to be advised if you suffer food allergies, illness or serious medical condition. Please ensure you have correct medications and someone who is trained to administer them. Please advise the Captain to expect trouble and remember he is trained in First Aid, not Last Aid.
Waiver
Adult passengers are required to sign a waiver of liability before boarding. A link to the form is included with the booking confirmation. Parents or guardians can sign on behalf of children under the age of 18. Boarding is not permitted without the waiver being signed.
Full legal Terms and Conditions will be available upon booking.
